Actual tire size- Bearclaws
#1
I know some aftermarket tires like Mudlites, run small.
My dilema is this;
I've decided on replacing the stock rubber on my 450 Kodiak with a set of Bearclaws. and since they are more of a "square" profile tire-(compared to most "rounded" stock tires), if I buy 25's are they going to be shorter, or are they actually 25"? If they run a bit on the short side, I'll go up to 26's and get deeper tread anyway (I think). I just don't want to lose any bottom end by going up. At the same time however, I also don't want to put a 24 or 24 1/2" tire on it either, if they run smaller.
Anybody have any idea?
Thanks.

I think that ITP is now making a 'deep-lug' 25" tire in the Mud Lite now. I read it somewhere, maybe you can check out there site and see.. You're right that the 25 used to have less lug than the 26's, but I'm pretty sure I read that they have a larger lugged 25 now...

what is the best way to measure them? if i were you i would get the 26". i regret not getting them. i just called a local tire dealer and he said the 26" have 1/4" deeper lugs. the 25's don't clean that well in the mud. they are a tough tire, though. again, i don't know if they are shorter or not.
