Had my POLARIS super atv running.

I had my POLARIS project ATV running last night. I took the engine out of a Polaris snowmobile 600 cc triple and put it in a 1998 sport. I had to cut the frame and add 16" to get everything to fit. I posted a couple of pics on my page. I have a lot of work still to do to get it moving then tear it apart and clean and paint.

Are you keeping the exhuast that's on it in the pics? If you had different pipes you could have gotten away with less frame extension. Was it just too expensive to come up with a diferent set up? way to go on tackling such a big project.

Awesome project, I myself am not a big fan of triples or the motor selection, but still I woulda threw in a Firecat engine...just cus i love 'em!!! For another sled engine scrambler check out the gallery section at my site www.geocities.com/scramblersite

Yes the exhaust is what caused me to have to add so much. It is pro five custom exhaust and is supposed to add a bunch to the power. They told me that it comes on @ 4500 rpm and tops out at 110 hp @ 9500 rpm. That is with everything else stock. With a port job Aaen claims they can get 145 hp. I'm going to see what it is like the way it is before I try anything else.

I was just joking about this in another thread, how it would be cool to have one of the mega-HP snowmobile motors in a ATV.....can't wait to hear the reports...
I keep looking at used motors, like the 700 twin ATV motors and thinking of building small buggy, would be nice to put in the EFI motor....
