Dinli 50 runs poorly when given gas
#1
I have a 2003 Dinli 50 that seems to be sick. It starts fine and idles OK, but as soon as you give it gas it wants to die. Seems as if it is starving for fuel. I removed the carburetor and disassembled (smelled like lacquer inside) it and cleaned it, thinking a jet was clogged. The first time I did this it improved the problem, but it still does not have the power it once had. A mechanic suggested the fuel tank might be contaminated with small particles that are clogging the jets. I have an inline filter on the fuel line and thought that would catch any particle that may flow through. I guess my next step is to clean the tank and carburetor again. Any suggestions??????

There are 3 adjustment screws on the dinli carb. It sounds like you need to turn the high idle screw out allitle. It'll be on the front of the carb(go thru the right front wheel well) screw on the left side they are very small. See if that helps

Rejet the carb. If a airleak is developed in the airbox for wantever reason, intentional or unintentional, the jetting will go lean and you'll get the problem discribed. Main jet is all you have to worry about. I think the 50's come with a 75 main. Go up to 80 or so. More than likely this will solve the problem. If you have the chainsaw style carb, then go up on the fast jet a half turn. When playing with these, make sure you remember where you were at originally.
