i took my quad to the dealer because it wouldn't throw any snow or mud it couldn't even spin the stalk tires fast enough to hit the rev limmiter and use the override
the dealer says there is nothing wrong they say thats all the power it has it dosen't sound like it powers out i think the belt is slipping
so before i go and pick up my quad and raise a little he11 what have you guys found
can your 450 hardly spin them or can you hit the override and really throw some muck

There was a post a few days ago about the clutches on the Kodiak not being grease from the factory. I think mine are fine it will run on at about 50 to 55 mph with the bigger tires. It has no problem spinning them in the mud. But it definetly does'nt spin them as well as my buddys 750BF.

I would insist on having the clutch looked at. Tell him there are a bunch that were sold with no grease in the clutch and they wount spin there tires. Mine will spin on all surfaces. I have found out sometimes you have to throw a FIT and get RED in the face. It also dosent hurt to do this in front of new custormers. I did it yesterday and when I walk in everybody knows my name. It like the old saying "The squeakie wheel gets greased" Dont take no Crap from these dealers.

And I thought it was just getting good traction. I have an 04 and it hardly will spin the tires in 2wd on the dirt, you realy have to get on the gas hard, to get spin. Is this the drive side pulley which needs greasing? driven side ? or both?
Shifting? never felt it shift...but itll hit 50 mph, so I assume its working .

What is this about the clutch not being greased? When dii they start greasing them? is it up to the dealer? How do I tell mine is greased? I can get about 50mph out of it and it will spin all four tires without much problem. It has 100 miles on it now.

If it going 50 and your able to spin the tires then I'm sure yours is ok. But if you got one and it acts like a grizzle 125 then you might have problems. There seems to have been a few that were shipped without grease. If you had one ,you'd know it.

is that 50 km or miles and is that a top speed or is that how fast the tires will spin in the snow
i went back to the dealer and bitched some more and finally they decided to take the cover off and have a look they said they found flat spots on the rolers and the belt had been slipping man were they ever nice after that they said they fixed it and put a new belt on but i was out again and it felt better but it still didn't seem right maby this is all the quad has and i'm just being a a$$ for nothing then i was going doun the road in 2 wheel drive and in low i hit 50 km and that was it. witch is about the right speed for low range but then all of a sudden the motor reved up some more and the quad didn't go any faster like something else is slipping so now i don't know it seemed fine on the trail but it seems to excellerate slower than i remember it'll hit 50 km no problem but then it'll just pick up speed really slow i haven't gone as fast on it as the day i bought it
maby i'll have to rip it apart and figure it out my self
