I want to put a twist throttle on my 04 DS. But there are a couple things that concern me about doing so.
First, on the stock carb there is a cable adjustment nut where the original cable goes into. This nut is a permanent part of the cable so the replaced cable would need the same adjustment nut correct? And second, are the throttle cables all the same length regardless of what year your DS is?

Finally, If you already have one on you DS PLEASE!! tell me what modifications you had to make in order to install it and what model are you using.....

I know it's allot to ask but it's important.

They will work on all years. Go with the motion pro. If you drag race go with the vortex, but if you trail ride go with the comp. The vortex has a shorter pull than the comp. The nut you are talking about on the carb where the cable goes in is just how the cable locks into the carb. It is pretty simple to install. I have the comp on my 04 Baja and had one on my 02 baja as well and they both worked great.

 

But with out the nut on the ends of the cable how do you adjust the cable? and in addition if you remove the adjusting nut there is till the threaded stud coming out of the carb base. It just doesn't seem right to have the cable just but against the stud on the carb.....

 

The motion pro from rocky mountain was a straight swap for my 04 and the carb end fitting was the same

No problem with the stock carb

you might want to get grips to go with it.

I managed to get the stock bar grip on to the twist but it was tight

Also on the length thing the one i have was to short to be fitted up with my lectron as shows by Mr HP
i dont know why as it was supposed to fit , I got it worked out with different routing so it wasnt a big deal. Was fine with the stock carb though.
