hey im 14(will b 15 on july 14th) and i have the quad w/ mods below i really want to get into XC before july 18th so i can race in PA in the maxxis 6-hour race because u need some sort of expireance before u can enter sooo my questions are what should i do to my quad to get it ready for XC or would it be cheaper to sell it and look for something else also and if look for something else what should i look for i will b looking used becuz money is tight but im planning on getting a job but it wont b till after my b-day also do u no of ne atv tracks around newyork or PA that i can race at with my quad at my age? thanks for all the help

the 6-hour race has a new youth class 13-15 yr olds 200cc +

 

hey 2phast4u, welcome to the xc scene! there are plenty of sources to look for races. check with local bike shops, magazines, and internet posts. just about every track or event has youth classes, just keep in mind a parent or guardian will need to sign realease at most places since you are underage. as for the ride your on now, KEEP IT ! there are classes that you can enter in with it. besides, if you're just getting started why shell out all the dough until your sure its what you want to do. spend some $$ on what you have and have fun!!

If it's your first time racing....RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG!! After you get acquainted with XC racing, you will begin to find out what mods you might want, or little things you may want to change on your quad. The biggest thing is show up, talk to people, and knowone will turn you away if you want to ask questions. Most quad racers are very friendly and helpful. Remember, the more races you make, the more you learn!!
