YAMOTO 110 CARB PROBLEMS

Bought myself a yamoto 110 at xmas and have only had about 1 hours riding due to various problems most of which have been rectified with the help of this forum, thanks. However a new problem arises, i haved developed a fuel leak resulting in losing 3 full tanks of fuel. At closer investigation the leakseems to be due to the carb overflowing. Speaking to a friend he says it might be due to a sticking float in the carb. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or have any tips on rectifying it. I bought my bike through ebay and assembled it myself without any proper instructions, Trying to get in contact with the seller is proving difficult and im not sure how the warranty works due to purchasing through ebay. Also would anybody hav any info on where i could get a wiring diagram for the quad iv lost mine? The yamoto manual online dosnt have a wiring diagram.

Lol these quads are worse things ever i have had same problem and known other ppl wi same problem , myn happened when i stoped the quad it pored out fuel, My carb just did it out of no where, i set off out and it started leaking , but i think the main problem that caused this was my brother went out on it and didnt turn petrol on and it all started from there, My Yamoto at mo is in garage with another silly problem where it will not spark and i have changed all electric parts on it now so am lost for ideas A n y o n e ?

I dont own a 110, but your buddy is probubly right , I dont think these are in the cleanest of environments during assy. Take carb off, spray carb cleaner thru it, do not get any carb cleaner on anything rubber in carb, floatbowl o-ring thing comes to mind. Have you done anything like this before? I can try to walk you thru it if not. My seller is MIA also.

Definately never pulled a carb apart before aint much experience of maintaining these things at all. Im learning fast though due to problem after problem since purchase. Any instruction would be great thanks.

I am not real familar with the yamoto 110, so I went to ebay to get a quick look at one. Looks to me that you can get to the carb without removing any plastic, not so with 150. You need to remove the carb from the quad, air filter tube, fuel line, throttle cable, and possibly electric choke wires. Once you remove the carb go to a clean bench and start taking carb apart. I would go for a complete cleaning, but you could just remove float bowl (on bottom of carb) Get a can of spray carb cleaner annd spray thru all small holes in carb, the brass things are jets. You need to be very careful with carb cleaner so you dont get it on anything rubber in carb, especially that rubber gasget between float bowl and carb body. If you do get carb cleaner on anything rubber, it will swell up and become useless. Once everything is clean and you have re installed the float needle assy turn carb over and look at float. is it level? if not slightly bend the tab on the float until float sits level, you may not have to adjust it, but since you are in there you should check. PIPUCK, "mywifesquad" gave good advice on the carb cleaning technique. I have two KMZ 150's and one did the same thing. Turned out to be a plastic burr in the float valve - must have come from the tank. Be sure to adjust the float. When setting the idle speed mixture screw/jet, be gentle, screw jet in so it just bottoms out and then 1 1/2 turns out. If you bottom it out too hard it will damage the jet. Also, after you take the bowl off the carb watch the float pin doesn't fall to the ground when you rotate the carb. Mine fell right out and took 20 minutes to find. If you haven't worked on a carburator before these little ones are good to start on. Take your time and work on a clean surface. Also the obvious about caution around open flame. Good luck

Atvdan, this might sound silly but on one of my KMZ 150's the wiring harness came loose from the back of the ignition switch. Caused the same no spark problem. I have had this happen to a piece of equipment onece before. Otherwise test the ignition switch, kill switch etc with an ohm meter if you haven't already. Good luck

PIPUK for the hassle of the carb just buy another one, they are cheap as hell teh parts!!!!
My carb did same and i took it to a atv shop they tryed, they couldnt fix it either, not final so it stopped all petrol coming out, they only cured it a little
