Default YAMOTO 110 CARB PROBLEMS

I have a 110 I bought for my som for Christmas and have had nothing but trouble. We have had problems with the backfiring and rough idle or no idle. I like the advice from mywifesquad about cleaning the carb. I think I will try that next.
One thing to watch out for with the 110 is the shaft drive. My son stripped the shaft that runs from the engine to the rear end. The shaft floats between 2 u joint connections. The shaft tends to move up towards the engine when running which only leaves about 1/2" of the shaft sitting in the lower u joint. The splines are not as beefy at this connection and it stripped. I was told by the company I bought it from (online and not ebay) that it would take 3 weeks to get another one from China ( warranty). I didn't feel like waiting so i went to winspeed and ordered it. It took about 10 days to get to me. Joe at Winspeed was very helpful. Cost $300.00 includung shipping. They actually send you the whole rear end section. I will be installing it this weekend.
When it runs its great.

Default YAMOTO 110 CARB PROBLEMS

Hi
Well i got the carb off n gave it a good cleaning with carb cleaner (not too daunting after all). I also adjusted the float level slightly, reassembled the bike and now it wont start. Iv tried minor adjustments of the jet to no success. Is it possible that i could of altered the float level to the point were no fuel is getting into the carb at all?

That would be my first guess!
