Blaster brakes....what are the alternatives?
#1
OK, I rebuilt the rear brakes on my blaster and they still don't work very good. What alternatives are out there? Thanks for the help.

go on ebay and get a hydraulic brake kit for a blaster. type in blaster hydraulic and it will come up with a kit. the guy selling them is from www.blasterzone.com. he has them for 200.00 adn the buy it now price is 205.00 and it comes with a reed spacer to. ive also seen a guy put a set-up off a banshee onto a blaster, but u have to make a bracket to mount the master cylender and the resivar to the frame. u need the brake peta, master, resivor, caliper, lines, and pads. idk if they bolt directly up to the stock blaster caliper holes of if u have to make a plate for them to fit on. im still unshore about what im gona do but im leaning more towards the hydrolic kit. the macanical hydralic brakes on blasters are worse than drum brakes in my opinion....

No insult taken. When I first got the bike the rears didn't do ANYTHING. When I replaced with new pads and ratched back the adjuster thingie then the girl slows down but like the guy above says...they are worse than drums. FYI, they use a ball/detent method of applying pressure. Cable driven ball and detent actuated disk brakes just not a good thing....guess that would explain why nobody else uses it. Thanks for the input.
