Default Sportsman 500 Cam Shaft

Has any one run into the problem with a missing exhaust lobe? is this a common failure? have seen a few, seem to be more of them in winter time than any other. some have been from excessively dirty oil and too many miles on oil changes. the main cause is in the winter due to short trips when the motor doesnt get up to temp. this causes condensation build up in the oil and can lead to cam failing. the main reason for exhaust lobe and not intake is both exhaust springs are pushing on the same lobe.
