Default Water leaking into PVT. Please help!!!!

I have a Polaris 500 HO. Just wondering if anyone has had problems with water leaking into PVT?
Drain screw(plastic) has o ring intact, but seems to vibrate loose after riding. I ride a lot of 2-3 foot deep creeks,
and hope someone will be able to give me some help on this problem. I hate to stop and open drain to let belt dry. Especially in the middle of a creek. Can you wrap plastic threads with teflon tape, or a silicone????

This seems like a problem unique to your machine. My first thought is, are you sure it’s leaking in through the drain plug? But you say the plug is “vibrating loose” so I’m guessing that’s the source of the leak.

The plug shouldn’t vibrate loose. Perhaps it was over-tightened once and the threads were damaged. If that’s the case you can hope it was the plug’s threads damaged and not the cover. Sure, try Teflon tape and see if it works. Or replace the plug with a new one. If none of that works replace both the cover and the plug. If you still have the problem your machine suffers from excess vibration and you’ll have to attack that problem from a different direction entirely.
