how can i make my 300 faster?

i have a 05, 300ex it has a full dg exhaust, nerfs, bumper and i want to make it go faster to keep up with the people i ride with with out spending to much money.............please help!

IF YOU HAVE NOT RE-JETTED THE CARB, DO THAT ALONG WITH K&N AIRFILTER. ALSO OPEN UP THE AIR BOX/LID. INSTALL REV LIMITER AND THEN WORK WITH THE GEARING. IF YOU ARE RUNNING 22 INCH STOCK TIRES, PUT A 14 TOOTH UPFRONT OR GOT TO A 37 REAR. WITH ENGINE MODS YOU CAN START PLAYING WITH THE GEARS. IF YOU ARE RUNNIG ON TIGHT TRAILS, LEAVE THE GEARING AS IS AND COMPLETE THE OTHER MODS. ALL THESE SMALL CHANGES ADD UP....IF YOU ARE GOING TO GO THIS FAR CONSIDER A WEB CAMSHAFT AS WELL...WHAT QUADS ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE KEEPING UP WITH. IF ITS LIKE A 450R OR A 450Y THEN ANY AMOUNT OF MODS WILL NOT HELP VS. THE COST INVOLVED....

TROUBLE IN A STRAIGHT LINE, OR SHORT COURSE.....400 EX IS A PRETTY STRONG RUNNING QUAD.......IF IT IS STOCK AND YOU PUT ALL THE MODS I LISTED YOU WILL STILL FALL A LITTLE SHORT.....RIDING SKILLS HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH IT......TRY AND DUMP THOSE 22 INCH TIRES FOR 20 AND RE-GEAR......INSTALL THOSE MODS AND THEN SEE WHAT HAPPENS....TRY REMOVING EXCESS WEIGHT AS WELL...IT IS A SITUATION THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE A MODIFIED SMALLER ENGINE RUN WITH A LARGE ENGINE...IT CAN BE DONE JUST COSTS $ AND SO CREATIVITY.....

High compression piston
better cam/ bigger intake valves& better springs
Better carb
good air filter/no air box lid
add that to what u have and u might be able to keep up. My new 300ex has about 2grand worth of motor mods. When its all together and running ill let you know how it does vs other quads.

i dont have problem keeping up with people and here are my mods are below. (if you want a better top end, instead of the 12 tooth get a 14...)

also you can build a 300ex to beat a stock 400ex, 22" tires will get you more top speed over the 20's, also you will have a little hard time beating a Scrambler 400, they are pretty quick for being auto's, and if you wanted to try to beat a Scrammy 500 you might as well forget it lol.
