Rincon vs Rubicon
#1
Never rode either of these machines, but I was curious to know which has the better ride. I'm assuming the Rincon with the IRS rides the best, but I've read many posts about how well the new Rubicons ride as well. I think the Rincon is one of the best looking quads available but I'm a little leary of it because of the transmission only having three speeds and now low range.

Yes you will pay a little more $ for the Rincon but you will see where your $ went when you ride it. Want my opinion than go with the better ATV go Rincon.

I would say the Rubicon, I just ordered one and am picking it up Sat. And thats going from a 660! I think the Ruby has as much bottom end power as my Grizz. Because its not belt driven. I don't like the Rincon because it is low on power considering it has 150cc more(05), and it has no 3rd headlight, only one range, the front rack is smaller, and it has no front bumper. Just my 2 cents !!

Rincon is more of a high speed trail machine, at least that was Honda's intentions. I would ride a 2006 Rincon before I decided.
I love our Rubicon. In a 500 cc shoot out it was considered the best trail machine in the 500 cc class.
For OUR riding style, I would take a 05 Rubicon over a 05 Rincon, but if I were buyng 06's, I would have to ride both first.
Our average speed is 8 1/2 mph. My wife and I always ride together plus we carry an additional 80+ lbs of gear. I like the SRA for carrying a lot of weight in the mountains. We have radials and they improved the ride a lot.
They are two different ATVs and I would highly recommend that you look at YOUR needs and wants and look at what the two ATVs were designed to do.

I do not agree one bit. If you want more power more room a smoother ride and be able to pack alot more weight than go with the Rincon. I have one myself and Honda is having a hard time improving anything on it mechanicly. It's a wicked machine. I took a Rubicon for a test ride and it has less power and the suspension is less forgiving.

I have to agree. When I took my Rincon to break it in there were two other guys who showed up after me (one just bought a Rincon the same day at the same dealer as I did) the other guy was riding a Rubicon. He let me ride it and there was NO comparison as far as power and ride went. I didn't try to drive up or down any cliffs so didn't try the lower gear or enging braking but just from a comfort and power perspective there wasn't much of a comparison IMO.
As far as price goes, I just got my Rincon for $6299, less then a Foreman 4x4 ES. Right now Honda is blowing out the Rincon's here, a listed MSRP of 7799 sold for 6299 for a Honda is pretty good IMO.
Hey, if price is no option then go for the Outlander 800, probably not a better quad made.

No front bumper?? Whats that metal thing on the front of mine?? I don't get this low on power thing, I can flip mine over backwards from a dead stop and mine is 100% stock. It's not marketed as a utility workhorse though so if those are your needs then go with the Rubicon. Like I said before, you can't compare the ride of the two, the Rincon is far superior.

Oh, you mean the covered up bean poles? Yeah that will really keep your headlights from getting bashed in>>>>>
Well, I figure if you are going fast enough to bend these in and damage the lights then I think bumpers are your least worry, I'd be c hecking my front teeth LOL. I guess if you are a real extreme rider then maybe this would be a concern, I've never ran into anything so I wouldn't know, I do know if I did the quad might be the least of my worries )
