jetting and springs for 700 prairie
#1
I have a 700 prairie with dynatek ignition, dayco belt, hmf slipon, k&n filter, maroon primary springs, boxlid off, itp holshots running on vp's ultimate 4 race fuel with main jetting at 170 and 175. I can spank almost any piped and jetted sport 400 in a 100 yard sand drag and most stock raptors. Has anyone done any test jetting for this fuel because you need alot more than gas to keep it from being to lean ? What is the best primary spring for 100 yd sand drag? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Can't help you on the jets but KissoDeath did a test on the primary springs and the EPI Red Primary yeilded the best drag times in the 300 ft.
I ran the EPI red for awhile and can attest that it has a brutal holeshot.

Tuff is right about the red spring, but if your talking sand you might want a little less stall (so you dont just sit and dig a hole for yourself) you might also want to consider the dalton orange/blue. Its has great shiftout but less stall than the red.

Due to carburator and jet design, going larger than a 175 main jet on the Kawi V-twin adds nothing. In other words, you will get no more fuel into the engine with a 200 main jet than you will with a 175 main jet. So if you are running without the airbox lid, or are running a big bore motor, you may need to use a Dial-a-jet to get enough fuel to run correctly.
