poping out of 2nd into neutral help!!!

Default poping out of 2nd into neutral help!!!

just got back from dumont!! rain sucked but we got in some pretty good rides.. Big problem though, I ran the "new hill" maybe 10 times and my 03 ds kept poping out of 2nd into neutral??!! kept doing it the rest of the time too. any suggestions????

try putting in new clutch disks

Yikes. . .

Could be that you need the newer shift forks.

If it continues to occur, you could round off your engagement dogs. Depending on how long it has been happening and how hard it hits you may need to have the tranny undercut.

Mine was in good shape but, the shift fork wasn't. I updated the shift fork ($50 part but, you need to split the cases (complete engine tear-down) to do it.

I've got a guy in the Sacramento, CA Area that has done this kind of work many times and is very reasonable on his shop rates (Preacher). Send me a PM and I can put you in contact with him.

Ditto - I would hate to have it be shift forks! But thats a strong possibility.
