Default Larger Tank

ey guys,

yeah so i was out riding yesterday and i was putsing around the fence looking it over for my dad for spring repairs, and my fan was coming on and off on my 800, so i turned it off to let it cool off a little bit (dont know why i did, guess i felt sympathy for it lol) and so i was looking it over and seeing how well the fender flairs work and i notice its leaking, so i walk around to the other side and my Anti-Freeze bottle is overflowing out of the cap because it expanded and was leaking.

so, my question was, i do 50/50 putsing and highspeed work on this, and i dont want to accidentaly run out of antifreeze when i need it most, or have to cary a bottle of Afreeze around with me when i go riding.

so, is there a larger antifreeze overflow bottle i can upgrade to? like maybe one off of a sled? or is that the same size?

thanks

I think the question is why your anti-freeze bottle was overflowing? You're overheating, which you shouldn't be. I putz around too and leave my machine sitting in idle many times, but always put back in nuetral so that it doesn't put strain on the belt. If my fan kicks on, its only for a short time then it goes off.

Sounds like you have a bad radiator cap or the fan isn't running enough (bad temp sensor). You could also look at my site for the coolant bottle mod.

well i filled my coolent up to the max line, so i dont think anythings wrong with it, it was just overflowing because there was so much in there.

i guess i worded myself wrong, it comes on and then it shuts off after about 3 minutes or when i speed up, i dont think theres anything wrong with it, i just thing the coolent expanded enough or something past the max line were i had it filled.

You probably just overfilled it like I did. Why did you add coolant to the res. in the first place? was it below the add mark? Did it have a leak? My guess is that it is just fine, the coolant level should stabilize after the excess is forced out of the bottle. keep an eye on the level after you ride it a few more times, noteing where the level is when you start it cold, if it continues to overflow the bottle even when the level in the bottle cold is normal, than you are overheating and boiling it over.

yes, i added because it was below the minimum line after a hard days work, so i added some, and it overflowed. but i gave my quad a real good run for its money today with alot of full throttleing and it seems as though its stable, id still be interested with a larger bottle though.
