I have a 400ex and want to get a set of paddle tires. I am going to get the itp sand star, but dont know if i should get the 20/10/8, or the 18/9.5/8. I am leaning toward the 18's. What do yall think? Any comments would be appcreiated.

 

Go with the 20-10-8. I have 20-11-9 and they work great.

Anyone out there ever used a set of 18" paddles?

 

If the sand you're gonna ride is soft and deep, the 18's will only get you high centered and stuck. Are you considering the 18's because of smaller diameter equaling quicker acceleration? If so, buy the 20's and drop a tooth on the front sprocket. I have run 20" Sand Star's, Sand Devils, Sand Skate II's, 21" Paddla Brat's, 20" haulers, 22" Haulers. Typically people prefer the larger (20" or 22") over the 18's for more floatation and less time stuck!
