Default good deal on 450 foreman es

Hey guys, I have a 700 v-force and might buy a second quad for family use. A friend at work has an 04 model foreman es. He wants $4500 for it. I'm not sure if I should take it, or just buy new and get the foreman 500. I can get the 500 for $5799+tax. His 450 has low hours and has been treated pretty well....not babied, but not abused either, just basic trail riding. Is the 500 much better?

Not such a hot deal.....a leftover 2004 450ES would be about that much from a dealer if you squeeze them hard, lol. There are ATV's out there left over. In addition you shouldn't be that far away from some of the cheapest ATV places that sell hondas - abernathy's in TN, ritchie power sports, and southern honda. You will be surprised at the prices there compared to a local dealer.
I would suggest about 4,000 for the Foreman if it is in great shape.

There are other changes , that might make the 05 better. Body work changed, theres more displacement(always a good thing), and disk brakes .The 500 is a new motor with an intake and redesigned head that flows freer, and two oil coolers, it isnt just the old motor bored out.
And I agree, for 4500, you could buy a new 04, with a warentee.
