Default Reseting the GPScape (blinking "GPS")

Hello,
I have a friend whose 2004 Rancher AT's GPScape is not working (blinking "GPS" symbol, no antenna symbol, and no arrow symbol).
The Book says "If the GPS mark blinks, see your honda dealer to check and restore the GPScape System"
Does anyone know if this is just a reset of some kind ?

Any help appricated, Derek

Default Reseting the GPScape (blinking "GPS")

I got the GPScape to reset after trying the typical; "disconnecting the power from the battery" and disconnecting the "battery back-up battery" with no luck.

Here's what I did to reset the GPScape;
I took off the black cover to the insterment cluster exposing the GPS module,which is located just in front of the insterment cluster.
disconnected the GPS module from the insterment cluster.
I then waited one min. , then reconnected the GPS module.
Seems to be working great now, I hope this will help someone else out.

Derek

PS. Disconnecting the battery overnight may also work, I did not try this, I just hate waiting
