Rancher AT recall
#1
I took my 04 Rancher AT to the dealer to have the ECM replaced. Has anyone had this done? Will I notice any change in performance. I'm not quite sure what the exact problem is but I think it has something to do with the auto shift.
thanks

I just took mine in for recall part last week. Rancher did not want to back sift when going up hill or playing in snow when you let off the gas, and then hit the gas again. I can feel it pulls harder now when on the gas, and it also back shifts when playing around. Does not feel like such a dog anymore. Feels alot snappier allaround now. just my first impression. Have not had time to take it out much seens recall part was installed.

Did you guys recieve your recall notice in the mail? I just purchased a 04 Rancher AT on Valentines Day. It was suppose to have been an 05 and I didnt know the dealer had slid on 0-4 on me until I got home and called my insurance company to insure it. Anyway, will I get a notice in the mail or do you think it may have been done already at the dealership since it was apparantly a left over model from last year?

I didn't recieve a letter or any notice of any kind. I read a thread on the forum that mentioned something about the recall. I decided to call my dealer and ask. They ran the VIN # and told me that mine needed it. I'd call your dealer and do the same, it's the only way to know for sure. they only had to keep mine a couple days. I'm still waiting to ride it and see if I can notice any differences in performance. It's to damn cold here in michigan

Thanks for the reply. I will contact my dealer and see what they say about this machine. I bet it is cold there, here it has been in the 40's and that seems cold to us. I imagine you guys are deep in the snow!
