Default polaris speedometers?

I had a polaris speedo kit installed on the trailblazer when it was new and never compared it to anything until today. wide open shows 44 ,although my bro-in-law shows 53 on his 04.5 sp600 right beside me. Which one you think is right? and why the difference?

The only sure way is to get a GPS and see for yourself. All 3 of my sportsmans are acurate to about 3 miles per hour.

the trailbl has 23-8-10 and 24-11-10 mudlites, but doesn't the speedo read off the front, which would be stock height? And if sportsmans are accurate to 3 miles per hour, then I got one fast trailblazer!!!

in every mag write up the sportsmans speedo is either right on or a mph or two off at top speed.
