Default Vinson brakes/fluid

I am replacing the pads on the Vinson. I figured I would bleed the brakes and change the fluid at the same time. Well the back went fine, but the front won't build any pressure. There doesn't seem to be any air in the lines. What should I look at?

Thanks
Doug

Hey Snug what's up?

Are you sure there's no air in the lines? Have you checked the reservoir for air bubbles? Is the air bleeder valve closed tight?

This sounds like air to me but have check out the hoses for kinks too. Does the fronts have an adjuster? If so you may want to play with that some too.

If you can't figure it out I'll bring my service manual on the trip tomorrow.

I would open both front bleeders and let gravity do the rest. Just set back wait a few minutes and the fluid should come out the bleeders along with any air that might be in the lines. Be sure to leave the lid off of the reservoir.

Make SURE that the pads are in correctly. I had the same exp. w/ the rears. Seemed easy enough, as I've done a ton of brake jobs, but they proved finicky. Real mushy. Upon further investigation, the inboard pad wasn't in right.

had the SAME problem with my dads rubicon, freaking hydrolic dual piston drum breaks, those mothers..... took me 2hrs to bleed em properly, wow i hate drums.

i know they say to do the break fluid every 2 years, but my 2002 hasnt been changed and the fluid is clean as can be, and stops so well that it pull stoppies on command, now my darn 400ex wont even do that!

v581

get one of those one man break bleeder tools , like 10 bucks at autozone/ napa/ advance auto.
