there was a shootout between these two and the ds650 in last months 4 wheel atv action.
The V was tops in all these catagories between the two with the exception of the woods course with a experianced rider, the scrammy won.

-The 700 is going to be quicker (lighter and more power). The trans on both of them is real easy to modify. The 700 will respond great to a full system exhaust.
-Which one will handle trails better...hmm...that's a toughy for me. If you are talking about racing I would have to say the 700. As far as versatility, the 4x4 Scrambler would (IMO) handle the trails better. Being able to click into 4x4 when the going gets tough is a real plus.
-Reliability will be about the same. If you are comparing the '05 models, then you are comparing a 4x4 to a 4x2. In terms of reliability the 4x4 would have more things to potentially go wrong. The Kawi's rear sealed wet brake is a plus as well as shaft drive.
-Faster top end I would definately have to say the 700.

If you are looking for a versatile trail quad then the Scrambler 500 4x4 would be great. If you are looking for something along the same lines but a bit more sporty/race inspired then I would say the 700 is even better. It all comes down the type of riding you plan on doing. If you ride trails that are rutted, muddy, hilly, etc. the Scrambler might be better.

My $.02
