Hi,
I was out this weekend coming up a hill in 4wd, hit a small bump. The front tires came up and when they hit the ground I heard a loud bang, smash. I got off the bike only to see oil coming out of the front differential. I towed it home with the front tires up, took off the skid plate and found out it punched a hole through the case and split the spider gear. I haven't taken it completely apart yet.

So has anyone ever had problems like this?
And does anyone know where I may be able to get a used/rebuilt one?

And finally should I bother to get in touch with kawi??

BTW the machine is an 03 650

 

If you're still under warranty...i'd definately get ahold of Kawi.....I had a very similiar thing happen, but only chiped a few teeth off the ring gear. It was covered under warranty. Make sure you're sitting down when ya price a new one....ya don't wanna hafta pay for one !!!!!
