Default New Cat goes swimming

I must say I am not at all an easy rider or my machines, I do whatever I can to test them. Well this weekend we where doing some trail riding and their was about 10 of us out thier riding. Well the hole trip I never really got do go in any mudholes so we came across this pond that was only about 100 feet by 200 feet so I thought why not. Well I pull into it start testing it so it gets up to about my seat an I back out. Well then I get the bright idea to back into it. So I back up into it and the bottom just falls out of it and before I know I cannot see the whole back of my quad and am chest deep in mossy nasty water. Then the ATV dies. Well get out the straps and it takes to bikes to pull mine out. Well get it out and it won't start take it back to the trucks which isn't very far away and take the plug out of it and let the water drain out of it then starts up I checked the filter no water at all the desighned these very well it is like the water just went around the filter very happy. Well get it started and will not go any where so I assume the belt is slipping drain the water out of thier and it had about 2 cups of water and all black so the belt was spinning. But drained it and took back off riding and thier was no water in the oil. To be honest I am impressed at the punishment you can throw at these bikes and they take it pretty good. THe only thing I have a question about is the water in the transmission since it is the auto when I drained it thier was a few little very little pieces of rubber from it slipping I am just wondering is this significant enough damage to the belt or are these belts pretty tough? I will also say that my bike has about 80 miles on it and has probably the most severe punishment I've put to an ATV.

i would take the cover off and have a look.
it only takes a few minuts to take off the cover and then you can have a good look at it and see if its damaged or not.
and they have a rubber seal so you wont need to replace tha gasket.
that way you will know for sure if its ok.
