Need some exhaust advise for my Scrambler
#1
First off I want to say hello, this is my first time posting here and so far from just looking around there is a lot of good advice in here.
Now for my delima. I just bought a 01 Scrambler 500, the gentlemen I bought it from had a Hot Seat kit installed before he even took it home. A Hot Seat Pipe and muffler, Jetting change (don't know details), a K&N filter, and a clutch kit. I think this is the Hot Seat kit they still sell for about $500 or so dollars.
My only issue is the pipe and muffler. The pipe is rusted something bad and the muffler, well the baffling is all busted up inside and pretty much sounds like a baby rattle and I can't get it to seal to the pipe very well because of the soft aluminum.
I have the stock head pipe (never used) and muffler (never used). My question is what should I do, I am looking at a HPD system, or a WB e-series and put the stock head pipe back on.
I am leaning more towards the e-series with the stock head pipe but am concerned that with the jetting/K&N the stock head pipe could cause me some problems.
Thanks for the input folks
Tom

Both the HPD and White Bros are great systems. If you need the spark arrestor, then go for the White Bros. I dont know what jetting HSP uses, but my HPD exhaust came with a 160 main jet, stock is 155. If you go with the White Bros, you will probably need to buy a 155 main jet because the 160 that it probably has MAY be a little to rich. You wont know until you install the exhaust and do a plug reading. The HPD exhaust includes the proper jetting. And Welcome to the forums!
