I run with group of guys that have a 400EX and 2 other 300EX's all with aftermarket parts such as both 300EX's have supertrapp's and jet kits and all and the 400EX guy has a white bros on order. We drag race once in while and i always end up losing with my front tires paralell with the 300EX's and of course the 400 blows us all away gee who knew? You can see what i have upgraded so far below... what else can i do to make my machine run with the 400EX?

 

Porting, polishing, high comp piston, valve job, CDI box mods, 14 tooth front sprocket, 400ex carb, and a UNI filter.

That should do it!

 

When it comes to drag racing,it's hard to argue with displacement. A friend of mine races(MX) a 250X and usually stomps the 400's, but his is bored & stroked to 406 cc's. A cam, in addition to what you have done & what was recommended on the previous post, might help some, but brute power will require more displacement!

 

yes the only way i see to beat or go head to head with a 400ex is to make the displacement bigger. or you could always buy a 400ex.
