AWD switch?
#1
I have a 2004.5 500HO and recently noticed when I'm going real slow down hill in AWD using no throttle, I hear a slight whine. Then when I turn off the AWD it goes away. When I turn on the AWD it will start the slight whine again. Here is the million dallar question: IS THIS NORMAL?
This weekend my friends Yamaha died and I towed it 7.9 miles through snow and mud. When I got home, I washed my quad and took it for a ride to see if everything was still working right. That's when I noticed the whine. It may have always been there but I was really paying attention to everything. It seems to work and run great, I just noticed the slight whine. Thanks for any input...

im sure its normal... mine makes a slight noise like your hearing, its your front diff in action
it shouldnt be acting up because u pulled a friend for 7 miles.. remember its a utility quad... its what its made for

It happens when I'm going down hill coasting with no rear wheel spin. How could it be my front diff working? Could it be just an electrical whine when the AWD switch is activated? I just don't remember hearing it before. Also I can't tell where it is coming from, sounds like the front area. I have not put it on jack stands yet, but might do it this weekend. By the way, my quad pulled like a semi the 7 miles, the Polaris really proved itself this weekend. Thanks for your help...
