I'd guess the stator, especially if you've been going through water.
You might check the tethers and kill switch for continuity.

All I know to do is by-pass it (but I'm not all that smart either! ). Used a steering wheel puller on mine but they call them a magneto or flywheel puller.
Sorry to hear you got stuck with the lemon. Most people swear by eton. Love my China quad!

i'am 100% shore its your ign. switch try that it should go my buddy had 1 go and the dealer spent about a hour looking for the problem and the ign. switch was the prob. he took it back to have it serviced half way through the summer and the dealer told him that he has replaced 3 other ign. other than that he is very happy.

I had the switch go bad as well. The starter would not turn though I believe. Anyway you can unplug the key switch and put a wire jumper in the connector to start it. Thats how I trouble shooted ours.

We have a 2004 eton viper 90 with exact same problem. But we tried bypassing switch but no help. Just received puller today, and even if it is not stator, I can still use puller, bc flywheel needs to be taken off and cleaned, had lots of dirt around it, then the oil line behind there is leaking, and so it mixed with that dirt. Really crusty...But I am having some problems getting the flywheel off. If it is not the flywheel or statoer, we are going to try the cdi box. My son had driven the bike through some heavy water and about 20 minutes after that, he turned it off and it hasnt been running since. If I can get this flywheel off......will let you know what becomes of it....
