we had same problem with 600, on your oil tank go to the top line (rubber hose) witch is a vent for oil tank, take a razor blade and cut a slach about 1- 1 1/2 long, this will releave the presure from building up in your oil tank, that`s it let me know ok!

Default oil cap blow out

Some of the early year SP 600s and 700s (I think up to '04) had a recall for a crankcase ventilator filter. The issue was typically seen in very cold conditions when condensation would form and then freeze in the filter. After the filter became blocked, it was just a matter of time before the pressure got too high and you would have a similar experience to yours.
