For any of you guys who tear cv boots often or have a torn boot. an outer cv boot off of a 93 chevy metro is the exactly the same as factory. only differance is the rubber is thicker and is cheaper than factory cv boot. i payed 10.00 for cv boot, bands and grease. i dont know if this would work on other years and engine sizes. i hope this can help

 

I wonder what impact the thicker rubber will make. Will it pull off of the bands when really cold because the ATV axles flex more than the car? Will they crack easier because of the increased flex?

I appreciate lower cost work arounds but sometimes those workarounds end up costing more. Kind of like a short cut going through Chicago.
