Default Finally got a scrammy

I just bought a '95 polaris scrambler 400 2 stroke 4 wheel drive. The quad has been bored 50 over and has a dg pipe. It runs awsome. and looks very good. My question is how do you change the tranny fluid and what kind do i put in? Also is there anything i should watch for on this machine? I am also wondering about a clutch kit. That will be my first mod. Any other suggestion on mods will be very well appreciated thanks.

First thing is you NEED to get rid of that DG crap pipe. You cant match a clutch kit to it because it has no powerband and no one not even DG can match a clutch kit to it. The DG pipe kills power in a Polaris. Getting a clutch kit alone will do almost nothing in performance. Save up some money and get a HPD pipe with HPD agressive clutch kit or RCR pipe and clutch kit. You must keep the clutch kit and pipe the same manufacturer. Trust me on this. You have not felt the 400 power untill you get a different pipe. Anyone here can agree w/ me.

I just bought a 99 500ho myself and man I love it. One problem on mine was the fan had froze up. When I test rode it, I didn't ride it long enough for it to come on but after a couple rides I noticed it. Just something you might want to check.

PrarieScram,
Check out my signature below, i was very happy with the performance improvement.
I would go with HPD products through RcR, give Rick a call he will set you up.

Thanks for the replies. I am definately going to look into the Rick Ritter and HPD, but i still have the question about how to change the tranny fluid, and what kind to put in.
