RTX 250 ES Will Not Shift into gear
#1
Have a 250 ES and will not shift into gear. It is in neutral now. Shift motor works and tries to go into gear ( can see manual shift shaft move) NO GRINDING of grears trying to mesh. Called dealer and he said there was tech tip issued to dealers about the clutch needing to be adjusted...OK what is there to adjust? I have exploded drawing of clutch and transmission but do not understand what to adjust.
also too add, It will not go into gear with the manual shift lever either. Get a fault for first gear when trying to shift with manual lever.????
PS I am not affiliated with the site I am about to mention. www.bikebandit.com is a great web site for exploded views of OEM parts.

clutch adjustment is quite easy. on left/front of engine, loosen off lock nut. there is a center "screw" inside the nut. turn it CCW until you feel resistance, then back it off CW 1/8th of a turn. hold the screw with a screwdriver, while you re-tighten the lock nut after adjustment. a dealer should do this for free, cuz they do it all the time, and it'd take them less than 5 minutes. if your still in a bind, PM me, and i'll fax you copies from my Honda factory repair manual.
ALSO, are you getting any blinking light on your gear indicator display?(they flash a certain number of blinks, which is an error code telling you what might be wrong). i.e , 3 blinks= angle sensor.
