Default Just bought a SP800 EFI, got some questions about a bunch of stuff!

I'm new to the world of 4-wheelers, so go easy on me.

First of all, whoe has a K&N filter on their 800? Could you feel a difference?

Where can I get a nice, cheap front bumper? I really like the one polaris has available, but it's kinda pricy at around $160.

Do the 1.5" wheel spacers help out in the ruts? Do they affect handling/turning at all, because right now turning is the only downfall I've noticed.

Around here there are about as many dirt trails as there is mud holes. Which of these tires/tire combos would be best? ITP Mudlites, ITP AT, Highlifter Outlaw Radials, or some other brand? I was thinking either 27-(9 or 10)-12 (Front) and 27-12-12 (back) or 28-(9 or 10)-12 (front) and 28-12-12 (back). I'm really interested in the Outlaw Radials, don't know of anybody that has them though.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

congrats on your new 800! awesome ATV!!

i spoke w/Highlifter a few months ago about Outlaw Radials. they told me that they are discontinued because folks were having problems with them plus sales were low. that was enough to convince me not to pursue them any further. the best mud-only tire IMHO are the non-radial Outlaws. on hard pack the ride is rough, in the mud they are top-notch! i had a set on my old 2000 Sportsman and they were GREAT in the mud.

good luck on the other stuff!

Welcome to the forum.

check this post out for the bumper bumper thread

The K&N may not give you seat of the pants improvements but there will be some performance gains.
There are many posts to search for on this subject.

Wheel Spacers will put more stress on your suspension components and affect steering.

The stock PXT rubber is a great all around tire, for pure mudding the Mudlite and 589s are the way to go or possibly the mudlite radials, if you have the cash.

Should I just put some 26-12-12 Mudlites or Gators on the back and leave the PXTs on the front? Thanks for the replies.

mtpockets: I got your pm, thanks for the offer, but I'll be kinda broke for awhile.

You could do that, I would prefer mudlites 10 or 11" wide. I dont know if you could mix radials with bias ply or not. I know you can't on cars.
Silverbullet has the 12" in the rear and wishes he went with the narrower ones.

You may want to check actual tire diameters, i hear the PXT are actually closer to 25".
