V-Force -vs- Scrambler 500 HO ????
#1
Anybody been down this road yet ? I hate the thought of going over to the dark side but that V-Force looks like an awsome ride. Has anyone compared one to a Scrambler 500 HO as far as power, speed, handling, etc, etc ?

I ride all the time with a guy who has a V. It is fun. It is faster. It handles better. It is more powerfull. It is not near as good in the mud. It will not get through tough trails any faster. You are usually limited by the trail and not the machine. We ride the same trails and one thing I noticed while neither of us had trouble getting up some of the nastiest stuff I had much more control due to the 4x4. When we ride the dunes he has the advantage in almost all situations. The only time I am able to do better is on some of the trails we have here at the OR. dunes. They can be quite technical. All in all the V is a very nice quad and I would not gripe anyone who bought one over the Scrambler. On a personal note the Scrammy looks better to me. Not like the praying mantis V.LOL

It just seems strange to compare a 4x4 500cc Sport Ut quad with a 2x4 700cc Sport quad in terms of speed.
I have a 02 scrammy 500HO, I love it. My brother in law just bought the kfx700, stock vs. stock of course it kills the scrammy in certain areas. You are talking stock "rear wheel" horse power numbers at like 21-24hp for the scrammy and 30-32hp for the kfx.
But wide open road riding yeah it will beat me all day long. How many people ride flat wide open roads all day?
Get out on the trail, the diff if not that great no one pulls away from the other.
Get into some deep mud-holes or real nasty hill climbs with roots sticking out and a 45deg plus angle hill and the scrammy will go up and the kfx will roll, the power is hard to control on those real steep extremely bumpy hills.
We went riding in a sand quarry with real steep long and smooth hill climbs, the kfx KILLS, and Embarasses the scrammy. But remember the kfx has over 40% more displacement than the scrammy. It better have more power and more top end speed.
I like them both, but my Quadzilla 500cc 2 stroke will smoke that kfx top end all day long....................

calling the scrammy a sport ute and a V-force a "sport" is not fair, The v is just as much as a sport ute as the scrammy, the scrammy may have 4x4 but the V has a shaft drive, both help define the word utility.
it all depends on what you are going to be using it for. the scrammy excels in some areas while the V in others

There was a shootout between the two and a DS 650 in one of the mags (4wheel action?) a month or two ago and the Scrammy had a better time in the woods course.
