Default Timing advance ?

We have seen on some machines where too advanced ignition will actuall slow the machine down on top end. Usually these are in the 5-7 degree range on race fuel. If you keep it 1-3 degrees advanced it shouldnt have much effect on top speed, you may actually gain a little more because it will rev a little higher.

as the the timing advance is up,the peak rpm point decrease,as you make
retard timing, peak rpm increase,so it wouln't worth to pass that point
if you known the rpm for sure.

Advanced my 03700 by adding weld to the flywheel, & filing down to match the profile of the pick-up "bump". Had to add fuel to the pilot circuit though, also running a 42mm BSR (wrong choise of carb). Long story short, I can whip a stock 800 in the top.
