Today i changed all my oils and i think i did something bad. I stripped out the rear gear case plug. Its not the threads on the plug iuts on the gear case. Any sugestions. I put some pipe thread tapp on and it screwed in alright but i will have to see if it leaks. If it does i think i might just tap a bigger thread and just put in a bolt. Any sugestions. Why wouldnt thay make the plug strip before the acual gear case. Just makes me sick. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

I have done that before too. I went with the next biggest size and tapped it out. if you put grease on the tap the chips will stick to the tap. Im would still flush it out with solvent before filling with oil.

There is also a thing called a "boatplug", Its a rubber expanding plug that will seal the hole.

 

you can always use a heli-coil also..
