Does every one call them quads because where i am from we call our "quads" fourwheelers....is that odd or not... I have never been riding out of state so i dont know how you guys talk...JW

 

I live in Arkansas, and not even once have I heard them called quads. We've always called them 4-wheelers.

 

The "wheeler" thing is more eastern, and the "quad" thing is more western.

Mostly the magazines are from here in So. Calif., so quad is what you will see them called there.

 

thats funny that you said that reconranger, cause here in Illinois..the middle of the states, we call them quads and fourwheelers!

 

As far as I know, we all call them fourwheelers in Canada...at least Ontario East anyway.

 

Usually here in the Northwest if you say you're going to go 4 wheelin' it means you're going to go hit the trails in a 4X4 jeep or truck.
We call them quads or quadcycles!

 

In Western NY we call them quads. Never really heard it of them referred to as four-wheelers.

 

We call them ATVs.

 

four wheelers here in mississippi... if we're going 4x4'ing as far as trucks go we just say lets go mud ridin.

 

How about the fact that almost every Suzuki "quad" has "quad" in the model name, Quadrunner, KingQuad, Quadzilla, Quadracer. Also in when three wheelers and fourwheelers were roaming the planet at the same time people called them "trikes" and "quads" because atv didn't describe which one you were refering to. Plus a lot of things with 4 of anything gets called quad, quad skates(instead of inline), quad cities, quadrapalegic, quadrangle, quadrant ect.
