we call them Quads here on the east coast, litteraly, i live 1/2 a block from the water. lol, never used 4-wheelers lmfao

 

I say quad then say ATV if I get a blank stare. 4-wheeler is a Jeep or truck. 4 wheelin' is offroading in a Jeep or truck.

If you have a sport quad then you say it otherwise it is assumed you have a utility quad.

here in ne oklahoma and nw arkansas we call them "quads" ----4wheeling means your getting the jeep out

 

I call them quads if I'm talking with someone who knows what they are, otherwise they are fourwheeler's or ATV's to people not in the know. If you say you're going fourwheelin', than you're most likely driving a jeep or 4X4 truck off-road, at least around here.

I never heard quad mentioned much unless in Dirtwheels, and we call it four wheeler, since it was 3 wheeler before 4 wheelers existed. A Suzuki is a quad, I would never call my Hondas "Quads" or a 3 wheeler a "trike". That is something from the 70's that I picture a fat Biker and his equally fat hog riding in, a VW conversion!
