Polaris Sportsman 700 Question?!?
#1
Last summer, I was a Polaris Sportsman 700 (just 2 weeks old). I made a sharp turn to the left at a slow pace & it sped up superfast & I then ran into a post. I ended up breaking my wrist & I am still in a cast from it!!!! It turns out that particular model had a recall on the throttle cable. I already have a lawsuit in order to pay for the medical bills (5 casts & 1 surgery later). I was wondering if anyone had heard of a class-action lawsuit that has formed or even just some information to see if this has happened to any one else. Thanks a bunch everyone!

Sorry to hear that. My 04 700efi did a similar thing once, but two days later I got a recall in the mail reguarding the throttle cable and the gas line. They were to be rerouted. I took it to the dealer for about an hour and they squared it away.
Sorry again. Good Luck.

Yeah, we got the letter in the mail a month or two afterwards. I don't want to be one of those lawsuit abuse cases, I just want the bills paid & that's it. I was hoping someone else had heard of anything that I could do some research on. I'm also in a business law class & this would be such a great topic to write on! Anyone who has any input, please feel free to write away!!

Wow. This reminds me of a post I saw by a sneaky low life attorney who was Trolling on another Forum.... I am sure this is not the case here....

Hey, there's no reason for mean accusations! I am just a college grad school student who decided to try out her brother's new ATV. I had fun, but I wasn't driving recklessly. I had been on it maybe 3 minutes & then the accident happened. I didn't even fall off or anything like that. It has now been nine months since my accident & my wrist is still not healed. I didn't want this to happen. My wrist may never be at 100% again. I was an avid volleyball player, which I can obviously no longer do now. I also recently lost a not only a promotion, but also my job because the doctor hasn't released me to lift anything yet. Now, after all that, do you really think I'm a lawyer?!? I was just trying to see if there was any information out there for me since I haven't found any. And I really am writing a paper on manufacturing defects. Now please, no more accusations. Put yourself in my shoes.

Blondie, look here and do more research here. What your looking for is probably here. Blondie, do not take your time consulting an attorney because you have one year from the date you incurred your injury to file a lawsuit. I injured my wrist almost 40 years ago and it still aggravates me on occasion. BTW, I'm not an attorney, I only play one on the internet

boy-o-boy is that a real slap in the face for Polaris! i hope Pol does a better job reporting probs in the future! WOW!
Blondiegirl, i think you should be consulting an attorney. arn't you covered under your parent's health insurance anyways? where were you riding when the accident occured?

I saw that on the consumer product report website. No, I wasn't covered by my parent's health insurance. I have gotten excellent care through the county hospital where I live (much to my surprise). However, I still owe quite a bit of money after surgery. I was riding on my parent's property between the fence & the street. I was only visiting for a couple days. I have consulted an attorney to get these bills payed. I didn't even look into it until I had surgery, though, which was 5 months after the initial accident. Before that, I'd payed for all those casts out of pocket! We're working (or at least he is) on building a case. I didn't know if this had happened to anyone else. I was just curious.

if this all happened in MA, your parents could put a claim in against their home owner's insurance to take care of those bills because the accident happened on their property. i would assume TX must be different or else they would have already offered to do that for you.........
