sprocket flange removal

Default sprocket flange removal

Anyone replace thier 400ex axle? How'd you press on and off the sprocket flange?

Rubber mallet definetely does not work. May have to take it to the dealer.

I've used a piece of heavy pipe about 3-4 feet long that has an inside diameter larger than the axle. Slide it over the left side of the axle (the side that would be the same side as the battery if installed in the bike). Lift the pipe and throw it down at the sprocket holder. You can get a big flat washer to protect your sprocket holder if you are concerned about nicking it.

use some liquid wrench that stuff can break or help break anything lose
