Default Warn Contactor Location?

I have a Warn 3.0ce on order and saw some old threads about the Warn contactor location. Is the general consensus that contactor should be installed under the hood to keep it dry? I am also going to be using the Kappers Fabricating winch mount.

Anyone have some underhood mount pictures of contactor when they had it taken apart?

Thanks!

Do you have yours mounted with that Polaris mounting bracking next to the battery? Just trying to get some ideas since I have heard everything at this point.

Thanks!

I mounted mine, under the seat in the tool compartment. Stays clean and dry and does not take up much room.

I've had some recommendations to mount it next to the EFI ECU below the light pod.

Anyone do that?

For those that mounted in tool compartment...did you mount to the side of the compartment or the bottom of the compartment?

Thanks!

Top front towards gas tank, still gives my a lot of room in there and makes it easy to get to if needed.

Seems EFI ECU takes up this space as see in this picture.

I'll probably have to utilize a rear location because of this.

Hey,
i like the nerf bars, did you make them?
Had my 04.5 500 for a week and had the black plastic foot thing that runs between the fenders wrecked. $100.00 at the dealer

I ended up mounting under hood. If it turns out to be a bad location I will move it. :-) I moved the fuse block slightly to the left and was able to mount just to the right of fuse block. I drilled new holes for both.

I'll take some pictures for others before I bundle it all back up. Preliminary test tonight has the winch working. I just need find a place to mount the remote control plug.
