04 sprocket hub (HELP)
#1
Ok my 04 sprocket hub is alluminum..i thought it was steel like the older model ds650's, mine is wore out and had spun around on the splines on the axel. We took the hub off and it is junk now...i called some dealers and they said bombardier is back orderd on the part for a month or so....so i was wondering if all the ds650's hubs are interchangable so then i could get a steel hub that would actually last....need help fast if anyone has info please post it.

Yea i no they are heavier but with the ammount i drive the ds i would need steel so it would actually last and i dont feel like changing them all the time. So does anyone no if the 01,02 ds650 sprocket hubs fit the 04 model?

as far as I know they are all interchangeable. I thought mine was steel (03 baja) but am now being told the opposite. If mine is steel and I order an aluminum one ill probably let my stocker go pretty cheap.

You guys might want to check with 222. I believe I read on another thread that he said the the star pattern, or something to that effect might be different on the 04. I might be wrong, but I would check.

common guys i have been hearing about some of you guys going from the steel ones to the alluminum ones so does that mean ur going to the 04 alluminum ones??...if so i can use the old ds sprocket hubs then? 2003 models and down?

I wish I could answer for certain, but I can't. 222 knows the answer for sure. But I do believe there are 3 hubs - the old steel, an aluminum that is interchangable with the steel, and another aluminum (I think the nwest) that is different from the other two...but like I said not certain.
I removed my old steel, and replaced with the appropriate alum, but do not know what model year it is, I got it from 222 so he just made sure I got the right one.
My aluminum one has been on for quite some time now, no issues, and I know many a 70 and 80HP machine is wearing them. Seems yours stripping is a real fluke, hard luck.
