Default Should i buy a scrammy?

I am thinking really hard about selling my tblazer 250 and getting a tblazer/scrammy 400. Do you think there will be any consequences to getting a 2002 or 2001 400? I am a 2 stroke guy so i dont really want a 500, plus i hear 400's are faster anyways and reliable. Any opinions would be great.

The two guys I ride with both have 400 scrammys and they are very happy. as for 2 or 4 stroke, on trails I keep up fine, and even lead sometimes, in a drag, they do pull away from me but not by a huge margin. But if you plan on modding it alot to get lots of speed then I would think you would be very happy with a 400 scrammy. I would look for one around a 2000 or newer.

I have a 1999 scrambler 400 and I love it. One thing you need to do is put a chain tensioner on it. I broke my chain this past weekend and the chain put a 50 cent piece size hole in my tranny case. It is a mother to get the tranny out and then I need to take the tranny apart. It was my fault, hitting some big rocks going to fast and snap. The chain tensioner would have helped. I have a few mods on my bike and I stand my own against all bikes. My brother has a sportsman 600 and my buddy has a scrambler 500 and they are always smelling my smoke when we ride. These 400's are quick with just a few bolt on mods.

wbvc@msn.com

there is a guy with the name "scrambler" on atvoffroad.net who has a very very clean 2001 scrambler for sale for $2800, It's really nice. I rode with him this past sunday and the scrambler stayed on the trailer with a for sale sign on it, if I had the extra cash I would love to have it just because it's so clean.

Thanks for the info. I will for sure be getting a srmabler soon. I'm sick of getting wasted by friends with sportsman 500s and would like to repay the favor.

Sportsman 70003, i agree, i was looking at that thing too.

I still have the 250's for my kids and got a 2000 400 for my wife. What a big differance. It does have a hpd pipe and clutch, but the ride is so much better. I have a bomb ds 650 and the 400 will beat me until I get into 3rd gear. You'll be happy.
