Default Polaris scrambler 400 vs yz 250 4 stroke

Who would win? I'm 130 pounds and I have a stock 2000 Polaris scrambler 400 4x4 and my friend weighs 180 and he has a 2006 yz 250 4 stroke stock. Would my scrambler keep up with it? Or be a close race? Just wondering because I know they both top out around the same and scrammys are pretty fast automatics. Also what should I do to my scrammy to beat him what exhaust would u recommend? Should I get aaens stage 2 or 3 performance? Let me know.

The bike will get to top speed a whole lot faster than your quad will. If you're wanting to beat a bike, you need to get another bike.

It's a lot like racing a truck against a sports-car. Fast trucks like the GMC Syclone have been made that can beat most cars but a Scrambler is more like my Z71. I could never beat a Corvette no matter what mods I did to my truck. Even if you had a stage 2 or 3 kit the Scrambler would still be heavy and slower like my truck is.

This all being said, the 400 2 strokes can still be made to go a whole lot faster than stock.

No matter how much power you have it's still going to have twice the weight of a bike. If you put a stage 5 kit on it it would be very fast but your friend could do a few mods to his bike and still out run you.

Ok I should ask now who would win yfz 450 or a yz 250 4 stroke? My scrammy has gotten looked at thought we fixed it will never stop bogging down I cleaned the carb changed the gas lines cleaned the gas tank checked to make sure the tubes for the oil and gas to get air wasn't blocked off changed the plug. I'm done with Polaris and 2 strokes u can't ever trust them. I'm selling my scrambler and gonna do corn detassiling and I'm getting a yfz 450.

Well, you still aren't beating a 250 bike unless traction is an issue. And 2 strokes are way cheaper and easier to maintain then a race bred 4 stroke, sooo......

Talked to a lot of people that have cleaned a carb and still had issues. Then asked if they actually cleaned the jets. Not just spraying them with cleaner, but poking a small wire through them to make sure they were clear of any debris. They've gone back and done that and it ran great.

I'd love to have one of the 400 2 strokes again.

One of my friends has a 2-stroke Sport 400 model and if he's had any problems I'm not aware of them. They're good strong engines but a PITA to work on if something does go wrong.
