Default 2003 kodiak with 2.5ci warn winch - winch help

Hey Guys,

I have a warn 2.5ci winch on my 2003 kodiak 450. One day the winch worked the next it didn't. I'm guessing either the switch or the sylinoid. Does anyone know a way to check if it is one or the other? When I hit the toggle switch NOTHING happens, no noise no smoke, nothing. Also If I have to replace the switch I am thinking of switching to the remote. Any one have any positive or negative to say about that idea. My thought is that it would be easier to respool the line cause I would be able to see what I am doing???

just use a power tester on the in and out wire to the switch.
I dont know anybody with the remote whinch, it seems like a like it might be a pain, more wire and connections.
