Hot Rod crank/rod assembly
#1
I saw an add in Dirt wheels about a hot rod and complete crank assembly for a raptor
it was priced at 399 dollars and claimed to be a 720cc stroker if used with their piston
Does anyone have any info about this or any experience with Hot Rods connecting rods????
I figured they would be okay since they are made by wiseco but i dont think i really need a stroker motor
I was wondering if anyone has ever used a hot rod in at least a 686 bike and how well it held up
Also i called sparks and they said that they only use stock rods on their 690s and they hold up great
that doesn't sound safe to me and i want to do it right the first time
do most sparks bikes use stock rods and also does anyone know what kind of pistons sparks bikes use?
thanks

Raptorowner had a nasty run in with the stock rod on his sparks bike, search for details.
There is a new stroker crank from hotrods, +4mm stroke and a +2mm bore = 720cc but it requires a specially made CP piston. I dont know if its on sale yet, but it will be soon.
Hotrods are not made by Wiseco, they are just the distributor. Hotrods is its own entity with connections to hotcams.
