ATVAction Shootout:Raptor vs 400ex
#1
Did everyone read the review. The raptor beat the 400ex on the mx track which many Honda fans said would not happen. Sorry to disapoint you all but every time they raced the raptor won. Both were expert riders, both switched quads, and had the same results! Not to mention the 400ex broke down during the shootout. The clutch has a problem that atv action said honda was aware of. So everyone that said the raptor was too tippy and could never beat the 400ex on a mx course and for those that posted the raptor is junk b/c one guy broke an a-arm or axle YOU WERE WRONG!!! ( sorry for that run on sentence)It took some time but it is in print now. I guess you'll come up with an excuse like don't believe everything you read. This post is solely meant for those that bashed yamaha and the raptor. I typically don't get fired up but for months all I been hearing from SOME Honda riders is that it's another piece of yamaha sh##it. Well I for one am for any company seeking to make the best performance machine. I myself started riding on Honda 3 wheelers followed by a trx125, banshee, 400ex, and traded in my 400 for a Raptor. Got my Raptor on labor day and havn't had a single problem yet except bent handlebars and grabbar. My point is all quads can't be perfect and all have areas of needed improvement. The Raptor I have found to be the best quad made to date. It is small for a 660 beast, handles as good as the 400, liquid-cooled, 5 valves, dual carbs, ergonomics is better then any quad ever, and has a reverse. Need you say more!!! And when the next company comes out with a better quad I'll support that too. Unfortunately honda's new quad is atleast two years away. The next best thing will most likely be the cannondale400fx. But even that does'nt have a package equal to the raptor. There is not a faster all around performer out there with the features and great looks to boot then the Raptor!

Raptors are everything they said they would be. Thanks to the boy's at Honda. Honda upped the anti and yamaha took charge. Every decade or so it's either yammies or honda. So far it looks like yamaha is ahead. Banshee, Raptor, R-1, R-6, and musically underated. Yamaha, if nothing else should be apprecited in the atv world as a benchmark as things to come. If Polaris would get off their *** you might see some real HP. There again Yamaha lurking in the shadows.

If I'm not mistaken this is the first time that ATV Action has choosen Yamaha over Honda in the high-performance shootouts. My hat goes off to Yahama for a job well done. The only other thing on my mind is the shootout between the DS650 and Raptor. Well, ATV Action picked the 400ex over the DS650 and the Raptor beat the 400ex which means that the Raptor is the new king of hill...or am I misssing something here. In my opinion all quads are great no matter what brand your styling....

I am a Honda man, as you can see a 300ex. Started on quads when they first came out LT125. I do realize the same thing you have...the raptor is the machine now. Finally, someone else on top other than Honda(ha,ha). My question is where is Kawasaki. On the bottom as always.
