Default New member.. Want raptor to handle better?

Hi everyone, as the title says I am a new member and a new atv rider. I just bought a 05 raptor and to me it feels a little tippy. I dont know if its because im a novice rider or not. I want to put a wider axle on, will this help for now? I can get a g-force +4 from rocky mountain. Yes money is a object because I am financing it right now. Thank you for your posts.

Yes, you will feel such a big difference with that axle..Best mod on my bike IMO.

You can get shorty valve stems for the front rims and flip them or drill a hole for another stem on the other side of the rim and plug the original hole. It'll make the steering a little stiffer thou.

A wider rear will help. If you aren't jumping too high, wheels spacers are cheaper than a new axle. After your rear tires are worn, replace them with some Holeshots or Klaws. The stock tires have very weak sidewalls and they don't slide very good, that's part of the reason the Raptor is "tippy".

i have an 05 raptor with a g force +4 axle and wheels spacers in the front, i think they are 33mm each. do not get wheel spacers for your rear end, it puts a alot of stress on your stock axle. how ever you can have back wheel spacers for a short amount of time as long as you are not jumping or putting to much strain on the axle, but for long term get an extendable axle.(g force!!great buy). it is not tippy becuase you are a novice rider. the seat is high off the ground, the engine is mounted high, along with its narrow wheel base. great quad though.

If you would be interested I have a set of +2 +1 ASR Pro star a-arms on my quad, with all Heim joints and braided brake lines. They are heavier then stock and I ONLY drag race now. If you would like to swap I would trade them straight up and you pay all shipping. You can see the a-arms in my pics.

Anyone feel free to say if you think this isn't one HELL of a deal.

I would only request that I have pics of the a-arms and they are in GOOD shape.

Later,
Mike
