Foreman Carb questions
#1
Hello, My 02 Foreman is running a little rough these days, some poping and some black smoke. It sounds like the choke is on, but it's not. I pulled the seat off and checked the air filter, ran some carb cleaner through the intake. Took the 4 screws off the top silver colored plate, with the spring in it, and looked down the throat of the carb. Looked pretty clean.
My question is: when is the fuel needle valve loacted on this 450es carb?
I don't see any obvious screw heads for it. Is it under a cover on the Carb somewhere?
Does anyone have a diagram of the carb, softcopy?
thanks

What are the surcomstances where the carb pops? Engine cold? idle? going on the throttle, coming off the throttle?
On cv carbs, the needle circuit is somewhat self adjusting, and if the motor is all stock, its ok at the factory setting.
How old and stale,is the gas? Is it older than 3 months?
Id start with cleaning and reoiling the air filter, and fresh gas, and new spark plug, and see if things get better.
